About Me

I am so glad that you are taking the time to read my blog. I hope that my posts will make you laugh, encourage you and inspire you. I also hope that you will be able to relate to my life stories and know that you are not alone in how you think and feel.

I have always enjoyed writing and this is a perfect way for me to feed that side of me. Here I can share all of my life experiences as well as lessons learned. In my posts I will openly share my successes as well as my failures. My desire is to please God in all that I do and say. Some days I work harder at it than others. Part of human nature is that we don't always want to do what God calls us to do. I am grateful that His grace and His mercies are new to me each morning. I am learning to give myself grace and I look forward to each new day which offers me a chance to try again.

Through my devotionals and spiritual posts I hope to show you that this Christian walk isn't about religion but about a relationship. It isn't about what you know but who you know. I believe in Jesus Christ and that He is the son of God who died on the cross for my sins. I believe that by repenting, turning away from my sins and being baptized, that I will one day be with Him in heaven. I believe that the Bible is the word of God and it is the guide by which I try to live my life. At one point early on in my Christian walk I turned away from Christ to indulge in what the world had to offer. I realized of course that it had nothing to offer me in comparison to what Christ could. He is my focus and my heart's desire and life is so much better because of my relationship with Him. I am so grateful that He never turned away from me.

In my marriage I have come to realize that I can be selfish sometimes. It took marriage to help me find that out about myself. My husband is a very patient man and an excellent communicator. When he speaks I ask God to help me truly listen to what he has to say. I have come to realize that there is a difference between hearing him and truly listening to him. I thank God for him daily and for the woman he has helped me to become. Our marriage isn't perfect. We work at it every day. There are times when I know that I bug him and times when he bugs me but we both pick our battles. We have committed to spend the rest of our lives together which means many more disagreements up ahead and I don't want to waste time arguing over stuff that doesn't matter. He is the first person I want to talk to about everything. And although we didn't start off that way I am so glad that it's where we landed.

As a mom I have been blessed with three men that have stolen my heart second to my husband. They make me laugh and I love their honesty. They always tell me that I am the best and a mom can never hear enough of that. But there are times when I don't always believe it. You know those times when "we" don't think we are the best. I homeschool my boys so I am with them 24/7. This has it's ups and downs because it can be stressful. On the positive side, I get to be with them a lot so I am there for all those special moments.

I have a passion for cooking and baking. I love being a homemaker. It is a lost art. Between all I do I can be unorganized at times and my dear sweet hubby is helping me with that. He is really great at helping me to simplify things as I tend to make something more complicated than it needs to be. We are a great pair.

It is my hope that through my blog I will pass along a bit of information that you didn't know as well as encourage you along in your journey. Thanks for joining me!
